Intelligent Alerts

Many monitoring tools lack the sophistication to intelligently alert.  When availability fails, most monitoring tools alert on every instance of failure.  This results in numerous nodes reporting failure and inundating IT support with an onslaught of alerts frustrating efforts to resolve outages.   

“Event Correlation” is key.

1.      Scheduled inquiry to specified node (i.e. Node #137).

2.      False Answer is returned. (Alert is held)

3.      False Answer triggers inquiry to next hop (Hub)

4.      False Answer is returned. (Alert held)

5.      Sunburst continues the correlation process until a positive answer is received, thereby establishing the precise location of the break.

6.      Alert is generated with specific location.
